The Digital Shop uses categories to let you organize your items in a natural way.  You can add unlimited categories and sub-categories, each with its own image and description which are both optional.  On of the first things you will want to do is add some categories, so click on the "Add Category" link in the admin panel.



Category Title: Set the title of the category.  Try to make it short and to the point.
Parent Category: Select the category that this new category will appear.  Selecting "No Category" will cause it to show up in the shop home.
Description: This is an optional field that you can use to expand upon the category title or provide a brief explanation of the category contents.
Image: This is an option image to represent the category.  You can either upload a file from your computer using the first line or point to an existing image using the second line.  When pointing to an existing image, it should be a relative path to the image: eg.  storage/shop/cat_images/image.png.




On the Manage Categories page (pictured above) you can edit or delete existing categories.
Editing a category is almost exactly the same as adding one.



Be careful when deleting categories, the items will become homeless and won't show up on any page unless you edit the item and change it's category.
Also, if you have any categories that share an image, make sure you don't delete the image when removing a category.
