To run The Digital Shop, you will need a web server that meets the following requirements:

• PHP & MySQL installed
• GD Library(for thumbnails)
• Plenty of disk space, depending on what you are selling

There are a ton of different hosts out there with different configurations.  Some shared hosts are very secure while others can allow other users to easily access your files.
A dedicated server or VPS(Virtual Private Server) is the best way to go, but not everyone can afford that.  If you are running on a shared host or plan on getting a shared host, you should do some research to find out if other users will be able to access your files.  If you need any help, feel free to post in the nukecoder.com forums
